Mortgage Fraud Up Across Nation

by Administrator 9. July 2009 01:43

According to the FBI, mortgage fraud escalated throughout 2008 in every state except Washington. In the first six months of 2009, mortgage fraud accounted for losses of $208 million dollars more than the same period last year.

The recession is expected to last through the end of the year, allowing this type of fraud to continue to expand. Unfortunately, scammers only hurt the consumers that go along with the scemes.

If you are facing foreclosure, don't fall for a mortgage scam. Contact the Austin bankruptcy attorneys of Slater Kennon LLP at 512-338-1100.
