Medical Bills Cause More Bankruptcies

by Administrator 4. June 2009 03:12

A study from Harvard University researchers has shown an increase in bankruptcies caused by medical bills over six years. In 2001, 55% of bankruptcy filings were related to medical bills, compared to 62% in 2007.

The study also showed that 78% of filers with medical bill problems had health insurance. Unfortunately, insurance does not guarantee that medical bills will not push you into bankruptcy in certain situations.
