New York based nanotechnology company Evident Technologies has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The company listed $4.8 million in debts and $3.9 million in assets in its filing.

Mounting legal costs were cited as a major reason for the filing. However, the company is scheduled to receive $2.7 million from creditors to help pay off some debt and to continue business.
