Charter Files for Bankruptcy

Charter Communications Inc has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy recently. This filing comes as part of an agreement with debtholders to reduce the company's debt by about $8 billion.

At the end of the year, Charter had $21.7 billion in debts. This restructuring plan has been expected for some time, allowing Charter and its debtholders to come to an agreement before the bankruptcy filing.

Pilgrim's Pride Given More Time for Restructuring

Pilgrim's Pride Corp filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on December 1. On Wednesday they said that they have been granted more time to file a plan of reorganization.

This moves the company's deadline for filing the plan from March 30 to September 30 of this year. The company hopes to exit bankruptcy by the end of the year.

Progressive Games Files for Bankruptcy

Progressive Gaming International Corp is a Nevada based corporation that provides technological products to casinos. However, they have recently filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy because of the suffering casino industry.

The corporation listed assets totaling $263,600 and debts totaling $5.6 million. Toward the end of 2008, the corporation had losses of $63.6 million on revenues of $13.7 million for the quarter ending September 30.

North American Scientific Inc Files for Chapter 11

North American Scientific Inc, a company that provides products and services for cancer treatment, has recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The company has also agreed to sell its prostate treatment line.

The company was going to seel the line for $5 million to Best Theratronics Ltd in February, but the price has now dropped to $2.5 million. North American Scientific Inc will try to reorganize its debt with help from this sale.
